The Elves of Memories: here is a quest for D&D 5e (NPCs, places, mission)!

This is a simple quest settable in any wooded area of your world, which will allow you not only to justify the redistribution of ability scores according to Tasha’s new rules (it’s optional also in the adventure, so do as you wish), but mainly to take a big step forward in your campaign plot without making it seem too deux ex machina. My english is a little bit shitty, but the docs are editable, so feel free to elevate the narration’s level before using them, no offense taken 😛 Again, the style of the documents is the same. Do whatever you want.

  • Maps → There are different maps: map with Trapper, map with Salamander of the Ice, and 4 different maps for the 4 platforms in the Almostplane of Memories
  • Places → Tribe of Memories Elves, somewhere in a wood of your world
  • NPCs → only one is well defined, the chieftain. You can come up with others if you find it useful, several ideas are offered.

What’s the situation?

The Elves of Memories are a great excuse to carry on the plot of your campaign: due to a disease that has always plagued them as a tribe, they have access to the memories of other creatures, it is a debilitating condition that they call The Pin. To get rid of too many memories, they take ritual baths in the Pools of Memories, entering through an Astral Projection (9th lvl) in the Almostplane of Memories, a place where – what a coincidence 😀 – your players will be able to access memories of dead or living people (you decide) which are important to the plot of your campaign. Use them to reveal a plot twist, the next quest, or whatever you like. The trees that make up the forest are called Leafy Titans. Players must do the first quest (“Underground Water”) in order to access the ritual in the Almostplane, offered by the elves as a sign of gratitude.

The Almostplane of Memories: will your players arrive at the end?

It is not obvious that your players will get the redistribution of the racial scores (and not even the homebrew feat you find in the documents!), Because the Almostplane is organized in 4 different platforms, each with a homebrew monster (“Wanderereaters”) that will try to prevent them to continue. Being killed in the Almostplane has heavy consequences, from permanent Madness, to simple death, up to being Disintegrated. But if they make it to the end, well, the reward is extremely crunchy. Not only that, but each of the four platforms will allow you to expose your players to the memories – literally – of some NPC relevant to your campaign, to reveal a plot twist, connect to a character’s backstory or simply start the next mission. Here we are at the end. Here all the D&D material that I homebrewed and published.
