A little bit of lore

Wilopi the Smuggler was a human sorcerer of peculiar abilities who lived in recent times. This small handbook with the spells he used most in his raids was not drawn up by Wilopi himself, but by an acolyte, a young wizard he met in the monastery where he retired after a life of smuggling and piracy. The novice, whose name is not known to us, with patience and in a few years, while becoming a skilled enchanter himself, wrote this short work. It is said that he as well, having left the monastery, embarked on a life of lawlessness and danger, just like old Wilopi who had taught him so much. The sorcerer, for his part, tired of hiding and fighting, lived with the monks until the natural end of his life.

Short description of the spells

    • Escorting familiars → the simple spell provides a variable number of arcane creatures at your service, who will patrol the area around a point of interest, notifying you of any anomalies sighted. There appears to be a fixed cost for each casting of the spell.

Counterfeit Cargo → whether to reduce taxes on a luxury item or to hide your wares from prying eyes, the spell appears to physically alter the goods it is cast on, with the purpose of disguising them according to the wishes of the enchanter.

Amplify the Ambush → instead of sharpening the senses of allies or the spellcaster, this cunning spell undermines the stealth of possible bad guys who get close to your precious goods.

Wilopi’s Armed Guard → when an escort of royal soldiers isn’t possible or costs too much, this spell of relative complexity creates it for you.

Summon Wagon → the spell allows you to create from scratch a wagon of good size and capacity, complete with a coachman.

Preventrap → the spell attempts to divine possible traps or ambushes in the area, and consequently tries to indicate to the spellcaster the best way to avoid them.

Merchant Saver → spell designed above all for those assaults which do not aim so much at the goods but rather at killing those carrying them: the spell tries to protect these targets in a simple but effective way.

Wilopi’s Dome → a modification of the famous Leomund’s Tiny Hut spell, created to adapt to moving structures and even numerous caravans.

Reverse Robbery → one of the spells of which Wilopi was most proud: when every precaution has been in vain and the caravan is attacked, this spell targets bandits or other criminals, and makes them tit for tat, turning the attackers into victims.

Arcane Caravan → Wilopi’s proudest achievement, a highly complex spell that unfortunately the sorcerer was able to use only a few times: the spell, which summons out of nowhere a caravan complete with guards and siege weapons, was in fact concluded when the sorcerer was already retiring from his life of smuggling
